Our beach is just the beginning…

Exmouth is an amazing town situated on the picturesque east coast of Devon just where the majestic River Exe meets the sea. Reputedly the oldest seaside resort in Britain, whether you’re visiting Exmouth for the day or taking a longer relaxed break, we know you’ll fall in love with our two miles of golden sand – the longest seafront in Devon and Cornwall.

For the energetic there’s a whole host of water sports such as kite surfing, kayaking and windsurfing. Exmouth is the home of Edge Watersports, run by Steph and Eric Bridge, who’ve done so much to develop and popularize kite surfing throughout the world. Our unique water front provides a great place for beginners to learn, while offering more challenging options for experienced seafarers.

If you’d rather relax in a more sedate manner, Exmouth is the perfect place to promenade on our idyllic Esplanade. Take a trip back to the ‘good old days’ and listen to one of the many brass band recitals that take place throughout the year, or enjoy award-winning fish and chips as you take in our unique vistas.

Exmouth is justifiably proud to be at the start of the majestic World Heritage Jurassic Coast, a site unparalleled for its abundance of fossils. If it’s dry land exercise you’re after, why not take a trip along our waterside cycle tracks to Topsham, Exeter or Budleigh Salterton? You’ll find that Exmouth is the perfect location to base a Devon cycling holiday. Even out of season, Exmouth holds many attractions – it’s a fantastic place for bird watching on the idyllic Exe estuary.

We believe Exmouth is the place to stay for those who want to enjoy the best Devon and the Westcountry has to offer! We even have our own train branch (The Avocet Line) direct to Exeter and beyond. Every half hour, charming trains will take you to the centre of Exeter, a 20 minutes journey along the stunning Exe Estuary.
