Exmouth is home to delicious fresh local produce from the sea, river and countryside. Locally farmed mussels, freshly caught fish and Devon’s famous cream teas are particular local favourites.

A recent article in The Telegraph showcases the excellent Food and Drink offering in the town:

Step aside Salcombe – there’s a new star on the Devon coast…

“Step aside Salcombe – there’s a new star on the Devon coast. Exmouth, 10 miles south of Exeter, is one of Devon’s best-kept local secrets. Or at least it was until Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines cottoned onto the potential of this UNESCO-listed region and opened a luxury hotel across the water in Lympstone, complete with vineyard. Buoyed by its popularity, last spring, he opened two more ventures – a £2.8m restaurant and a café-patisserie on Exmouth’s beautiful two-mile sandy beach.”

So why not take a visit to Exmouth to sample this wonderful local produce on offer or come and do some of your Christmas shopping?

Exmouth Mussels

Exmouth Mussles offer sustainably farmed, award winning shellfish from the sparkling water of the River Exe.

Working from their base on Exmouth Docks this small innovative company has developed unique equipment to farm the fast flowing River Exe. By doing away with dredges and using a self-fluidising elevator, the shellfish are teased from their muddy beds without impact on the stone layers beneath. Minimal disturbance and constant re-seeding allows the high density of fish, crabs and sponges that build up on these “underwater rainforests” to be maintained.
